Cet événement a suscité beaucoup d'intérêt tant dans les milieux scientifiques qu'auprès des décideurs et des médias. Les 60 conférenciers ont partagé leurs analyses et points de vue sur les réalités/priorités chinoises et apporté des éclairages pour une mise en perspective globale de ces enjeux.

Amartya SEN is Lamont University Professor, and Professor of Economics and Philosophy, at Harvard University and was until recently the Master of Trinity College, Cambridge. He has served as President of the Econometric Society, the Indian Economic Association, the American Economic Association and the International Economic Association. He was formerly Honorary President of OXFAM and is now its Honorary Advisor. Born in Santiniketan, India, Amartya Sen is an Indian citizen. He studied at Presidency College in Calcutta, India, and at Trinity College, Cambridge. He was Lamont University Professor at Harvard also earlier, from1988–1998, and previous to that he was the Drummond Professor of Political Economy at Oxford University, and a Fellow of All Souls College (he is now a Distinguished Fellow of All Souls). Prior to that he was Professor of Economics at Delhi University and at the London School of Economics.

WANG Yuesheng is, Doctoral Supervisor, Chair of the Department of International Economics and Trade, Director of Institute of International Economic Research in Peking University.

Rajendra K. PACHAURI, Chairman IPCC and Director General of TERI, India (EN)
In April 2002, Dr Pachauri was elected the Chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, established by the World Meteorological Organization and the United Nations Environment Programme in 1988 (Re-elected in September 2008). IPCC along with former Vice President Al Gore has been awarded the “Nobel Peace Prize” for the year 2007. He has been appointed as Director, Yale Climate and Energy Institute from July 2009. He has been active in several international forums dealing with the subject of climate change and its policy dimensions.
He was conferred with the “Padma Vibhushan”, second highest civilian award, for his services in the field of science and engineering in January 2008 by the President of India.
