Innovating for essential services in Africa

(IN FRENCH)

On the occasion of the publication of a new issue of its journal, the Veolia Institute organized a conference dedicated to innovations for access to essential services in Africa. Access to water, sanitation, waste management and energy are at the crossroads of environmental and societal challenges on the African continent.

How to scale up innovative solutions that respond to these challenges? What coalitions of actors will make it possible to address these challenges? How to support the development of sustainable cities in Africa?

With contributions from:

  • Fadel Ndaw, Water and Sanitation Specialist, World Bank

  • Haweya Mohamed, co-founder of Afrobytes

  • Max Cuvellier, Director of Mobile 4 Development, GSMA

  • Christophe Maquet, Director of the Africa and Middle East zone, Veolia Environnement

The discussions were led by David Ménascé, founder of the Archipel&Co firm and coordinator of the latest issue of the Veolia Institute Water, Waste, Energy: What future for essential services in Africa?

With the introduction of Nicolas Renard, Executive Director of the Institut Veolia.
